Michael Bain

Physiotherapist

Originally from the Central Coast, Michael has grown up in and around the ocean, forming a passion for water sports including surfing, surf-life saving, swimming and triathlons. Michael also enjoys participating in team sports including basketball, oztag and touch football.

This sports orientated background has led Michael to pursue a career in sports and health. Michael graduated from the University of Newcastle with a bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2019. Since then, Michael has gained extensive experience in the musculoskeletal and sports space, working with athletes ranging from the recreational weekend warrior through to the elite level on the Central Coast.

Michael was the team physiotherapist for the Terrigal Trojans rugby union club between 2020-2022, and has also provided sports coverage for soccer and ultimate frisbee. Michael has helped managed many athletes in their return to performance including surfers, swimmers, triathletes, rugby union, rugby league, soccer, basketball, gymnastics and dancing.

Prior to joining Coast Sport, Michael has worked in the Northern Territory for 12 months managing persistent and complex musculoskeletal conditions. These include motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation, vestibular retraining, post operative rehabilitation and NDIS clientele.

Now back living on the Coast, you are likely to see Michael down at the beach surfing, playing basketball or spending time with friends and family.
