Para Sport at Coast Sport

Coast Sport is proud to support the Central Coast community by delivering high-quality Para Sport services. We work with individuals across all stages of their sporting journey, whether the goal is rehabilitation, building strength and fitness, improving performance, or returning to sport.

Our Para Sport services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Accredited Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists, and Strength and Conditioning Coaches. Care is individualised and can be provided for people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities, with a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and performance.

Our Services

Exercise Physiology

Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university-trained health professionals who specialise in prescribing exercise for people living with disability. They take a holistic approach, considering individual abilities, medical history, and functional goals.

Exercise programs are carefully adapted and modified as required, including the use of adaptive equipment, to ensure exercises are safe, effective, and accessible while supporting participation in sport and physical activity.

Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapists have extensive experience working within the Para sport and exercise sector. Their role includes comprehensive assessment, injury management, pain management, and hands-on therapy where appropriate.

They also design and prescribe individualised rehabilitation programs that consider necessary adaptations and modifications, supporting recovery, injury prevention, and long-term participation in sport and exercise.

Strength and Conditioning

Our strength and conditioning coaches work closely with our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists to deliver safe, effective training programs. The focus of this service is to build physical capacity, including strength, mobility, endurance, and overall fitness.

For Para athletes, strength and conditioning programs may also include sport-specific training to enhance performance and support success in their chosen sport.

NDIS Supported Services

At Coast Sport, our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists provide services to NDIS participants who are self-managed or plan-managed. All treatment is aligned with the participant’s NDIS goals and individual needs.

Participation in sport and physical activity plays an important role in overall wellbeing, community engagement, and quality of life. Our team is committed to helping NDIS participants build the capacity, confidence, and skills needed to engage in sport and exercise safely and meaningfully.

Other Funding Options

Para Sport athletes may also be eligible to access services through private health insurance rebates or GP Chronic Disease Management Plans, which can provide subsidised access to our services.
