With the many benefits that come with growing up on the Central Coast, Matt was able to enjoy many sports and outdoor activities, from basketball, tennis and cricket, progressing into mountain biking, adventure racing and rock climbing.
Intuitively, given his sports orientated background, Matt was driven to achieve a sports and health orientated career. After graduating university in 2006 with a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Exercise and Sports Science) and a Master of Physiotherapy, Matt then went on in 2009 to work at 2 major Central Coast physiotherapy practices gaining extensive private practice, sports and hospital experience.
Completing a Master of Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy degree at Griffith University in 2014, Matt is a Dual Titled Member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Matt is also registered as an International Sports Physical Therapist, as designated by the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy and is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, designated by Exercise and Sports Science Australia. Matt is a Member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
Working with the Central Coast Crusaders basketball team and Carlile Circle of Swimming Clubs, Matt has gained significant experience and knowledge regarding athlete management and performance. Matt has a passion for basketball, previously working with multiple NSW Under 20s Men’s Teams, locum consulting with the Sydney Kings and locum consulting for the NBA Academy and AIS men’s basketball programs based in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport.
In 2015, Matt attended the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea working for the Australian Olympic Committee as physiotherapist for the very successful Australian Team.
