Coast Sport Director and Physiotherapist, Brett Doring is currently in sunny Cairns looking after the Australian Para Swim Team in the lead up to Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships being held from 9th-13th August.
With 35 of our best para swimmers representing Australia on home soil in Far North Queensland at the Tobruk Memorial Pool in Cairns, the upcoming championships is set to be a cracker for the Aussie team, with many being in high contention for medalling.
Doring is a regular fixture when it comes to supporting Aussie swim teams and is frequently on tour with the Dolphins Australian Swim Team, having recently been onsite tuning up our local swim stars during the Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.
Located in the Mariners Centre of Excellence Building in Tuggerah, Coast Sport is a local leader in provision of Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition, Clinical Pilates and Massage Therapy services to Central Coast communities. The team at Coast Sport work closely with many elite sporting teams and organisations including Central Coast Academy of Sport, Central Coast Mariners FC & Academy, Central Coast Heart Netball, Central Coast Crusaders, NSW Basketball, Ourimbah Razorbacks, Wyong Lakes AFL, North Avoca SLSC and more.
“We are thrilled to be able to support elite Aussie athletes in their pursuit for sporting excellence” says Doring. “The stakes are high at these international meets and effective injury prevention and management are critical for our athletes performing at this level”, explains Doring. “The Physio team is often with the team for many hours every day in the lead up to competition, we get to know the athletes and their bodies very well and do all we can to keep them in prime shape come race day” states Doring.
Many athletes are choosing Coast Sport as their “sports go to” when it comes to a premium healthcare partner. Local sporting stars are relieved that they no longer need to travel to receive the quality care, comprehensive services and facilities needed. Coast Sport is also pleased to be able to support the local athlete community and have selected a number of Coast Sport ambassadors. These ambassadors include Commonwealth Games Bronze medallist and local high jumping star, Nicola McDermott, swimming sensations Cassandra van Breugel and Nathan Ward, track and field up and comer, Ashley Pernecker and local long jumper, Beth Kranendonk.
We wish all the Paralympic swim team the best of luck at the Pan Pac Championships!
